The lesson for a home runner is narrower and more useful: heat exposure belongs in the plan early enough to adapt, often enough to maintain, and calmly enough that it does not wreck the running.
There is also a difference between a finisher’s personal account and controlled research. Webb’s claim that acclimated runners lose “fifty per cent less sweat and sodium” is part of his heat-training framework.[7] It should motivate attention to heat work, not replace individualized hydration and sodium practice during long runs.
